Talk Photography 2007 Members Calender

We could do a joint calendar, ladies and men...with strategically placed photographic articles to save embarassment (remember the sticky buns in Calendar Girls?).

Now while others like matty may be perfectly happy with the nifty fifty, I'm afraid I wouldnt be able to take part unless I borrowed someones Bigma :D

Hmmm! opposite for me Marcel ... but its ok, I come equiped with a macro lens

Marianne ... for one very stoopid moment I thought you were talking sugaring us as in cakes, then I realised you meant the 'hurty stuff'

funny thread,

as I mentioned before, I am Miss December, lol

Santa hat and a Nikon around my neck, what could be cuter than that? ;) :p :D

I AM Kidding!

Jewel :D

Jewel, that sounds a little under dressed for being miss december

sure you can have the nikon and the santa hat, but I think for the sake of sensibility you should consider something to keep you warm.

I have a pair of gloves you can borrow :D

I must have missed the afore-mentioned pic... does it already exist? do we get to see, Jewels?

Id be Ms February, cos thats when my B'day is.
That way I could also hide under lots of layers and my big Russian fur hat, lol!!!
Be intriguing to see who would be Miss/Mr June/July/August ... guess they wouldnt be hiding behind very much!

ah, but just think of the possibilities for hanging the camera :D

errrrrr

so

we would be wanting 13 shots for a calender wouldnt we, so if you guys are up for having oe of your photos on a desktop calender or an A4 calender for your fellow members to buy a stare at for ayear, then please do think about it, i will start a new thread and get some final pricings for this during the week!

Id be really honoured to have a pic of mine in a TPF calender ... fortunately for you guys ... I know my limits
I think its a fab idea though and I hope it comes to fruition.

well hopefully i will have the final costs tomorrow, then a shiney new thread will appear...:D

ok i have prices, we would be looking at around £8 - £9 for CD case desktop and similar for A4, does that sound reasonable, and who would be up for one?

do people prefer Tent style desktop calendars then?

I prefer the hang on the wall A4 style, dont have any room on my desk for a tent or CD one ;)

I would like probably 2 A4's one for the office and one for home! Plus my husband might want one (he's photoartie).

Renee

I'll have an A4 one.

What will your selection criteria be for the calander though?

Have you considered using your past competition winning shots? As these were voted as the best pictures by your members and would show the standard of photography on this forum for others to see. Or would this be to general for a calandar

Just an idea, dont want anyone getting upset if there pictures dont make the grade.

I think it would be a member submitted, and voted on by the members.
Most popular 13 shots win the gig (one per member).

aye

going to start a new thread for it shortly

On the submissions thread you don't mention whether you're looking for landscape or portrait photos? Surely you'll be looking for one or the other, as otherwise it'll make for a strange calendar! :D

I'd also assume that they ought to all be the same ratio, 6x4 for example :)

/searches for ban button....

  Yup yup! I'll take a poster sized one please. :D

What's a "CD desktop" calendar? I think I want a "tent" one. I was looking high and low for a nice desktop calendar but am stuck with the free Johnny Walker one. Boring. :'(

im waiting on a price for tent calendars, the company im talking with will do small quantities without ramping up the costs.

Matty, any chance of PM'ing me who you're dealing with. I'm trying to do one similar for club funds at the motocross. No probs if not :)

matty's away until Weds/Thurs (unless he finds an internet cafe). I'll leave a note in the Staff Room for him so he doesnt miss this :)

Regards
