Yes
I want a film camera, but, I hate film...

A little amount of googlage has pointed me in the direction of a Canon EOS IX...

From what ive read it uses the EF mount so my current lenses will work. It appears to use the APS film system, which for me, with my fat little fingers is nice and easy to load rather than struggling getting tiny little holes to line up with even tinyier little teeth.

A few things im unsure about;

APS, what are the drawbacks?
Is APS film still readily available?
IS and AF, will it work? has the camera got a battery to power AF and IS on big Canon lenses?

Well that doesn't sound like a great start. :lol:

All the eos film cameras are so easy to load that I really think that you'd be better off with a 35mm body. You'll get so much more for your money with all the choice available, the pic quality will be better and film choice for APS is not exactly going to be great.

Loading a film into any eos is as simple as take it out the canister, push it into the camera and close the back. Job done.

Several reasons, but amongst them are:

I want to get out of the "Rapid Fire" frame of mind, being able to take 1400RAW shots/memory card.
I need a Film camera for a college course im thinking about signing up for next year.
I generally like the "look" of film photos.

APS film is much smaller so loses some of the DOF and low grain aspects of 35mm film. Also not sure how available film is now and certainly you won't be able to get some of the more esoteric films.

Get a full size EOS. Film loading is easy when you get the knack

If the course involves developing your own B&W film, I'm not sure that APS would be a valid choice.

LOL @ Me, i hadnt even thought that that would be the reason they suggested students needed a film SLR.
