After much deliberation i have decided to purchase a Canon 60d. The dilema i have is where is the best place to buy from. Jessops £799, Camerabox £735, Warehouse ex £780, DigitalRev £609, and why the big differences in price. I can only assume that some are imported, if so how does this effect my rights? and what warranty do i get.

regards
Steve

The DigitalRev camera is a grey import. A one year warranty is managed by DigitalRev as a result. The camera will still be serviced locally, but they will manage the process (plenty of info on this site). I just bought one from them and it arrived in 2 days from Hong Kong (!!) and all is fine except you only get a photocopied / CD manual. But they chucked in a rocket blower, screen protector, SD bag, hand strap and other stuff for free :)

Aren't Camerabox grey imports also? I may be wrong there!!

Good choice of camera body by the way. I have been reading lots of rave reviews about this beauty!

Here's the beast :)

Camerabox would be grey import as well. I bought a G11 from them when it got released in 2009, I knew that would be the case as it wasn't really available in the UK yet. I got a US style charger with UK adapter and an obviously Camerabox-printed manual.

I got my 60D from ebay seller "digigood". Arrived next day(!) with special delivery from London, £618.- . Again US style charger with UK adapter and Asia-Pacific software, but for the savings that's truly a minor sacrifise.

And manualfocus, love your lens :-) !

Does anyone know how much lighter the 60D feels to the 40D?

60D = 755 g (1.6 lb) not sure if with/without battery
40D = With battery: 822 g (1.8 lb)
