taking pics when wearing spectacles

Actually I had very detailed stats when I had my consultation, including full info on the surgeon doing the op, and lots of graphs and pie charts showing their results for the last few years. They also give you the contact numbers for 5 people who have had the treatment and were a similar age/prescription to you. I found the process very open and honest.

Of course there's a risk in any surgery but I considered it small enough to go ahead. Six months later I have 20/20 vision, no problems.

They gave you 5 peoples contact numbers???

a) did you contact any of them?

b) were they surprised at the call given the nature of the data protection act?

I'm certainly surprised to be honest, but again, having worked in healthcare I also know that stats can easily be presented in many different ways.

As I say, I'm a cynic :-/

a) yes of course. All were pleasant, helpful and happy with their results.

b) no, you have a choice whether you want to be contacted in future when you sign up for the procedure, so obviously they had all done this.

BTW I'm aware that it isn't for everyone; it's something I'd been thinking about on and off for years, but was always worried about the potential risks. I finally made the decision because I thought the technology has improved enough to be much more reliable and predictable than when it first became popular (I went for the top intralase wavefront treatment).

I've recently had glasses for mild short sightedness and (primarily) astigmatism... its taken a while to get used to using my camera while wearing them, but most of my shots are coming out focused properly now :D

I find wearing glasses ruins photography for me, I get smears on my glasses when rubbing up to the viewfinder rubber so I end up not being able to see anyway/spending more time cleaning the glasses and on any full frame camera I can't see the whole frame at once. My eye sight isn't even that bad.

I might try contacts, like the ones recommended above but I generally just shoot without them on but I'd rather be able to see properly.
