I'm attending a gig tonight and want to take some photo's, nothing special, just want to learn how to take better gig photo's and thought any oportunitie is possible.

However my issue is that i've been emailing, calling and visiting the venue(o2 academy glasgow) for the past 2 months and got nothing from anybody.

Is there anyone that can give me a little head's up on a yes or no. I ideally don't want to put my camera in a cloakroom with a stranger.

Cheer's

they may allow cameras with fixed lenses ,so a good bridge camera may be allowed. hbut may be unlikly to allow cameras with detachable lens.

Enjoy your sef tonight.

Cheers Steve

Yeah, I need to purchase a Bridge camera to add as a pocket weight for when im not out with the Dslr.

I've broken it down to basically body and 50mm lens and my fiancée is taking it in her bag as we had no problems last time when she took it(though,it wasnt for a big gig).
I'm considering taking the battery out and keeping it in my pocket while we get into the event. Minimising the chance of getting told to take it to the cloakroom.

But thanks for your help Steve.

Went to the o2 last week and they were searching all bags on entry (it was the VIP lounge so that might have made a difference?) I did see someone surrendering something at the door, didn't stay around long enough to see if it was a camera.

The people on the doors don't always know the difference, if it looks big they sometimes think "pro camera."

However when I was at Wembley Stadium for Take That they only seemed concerned about stopping people taking bottled drinks into the seating area, rather than cameras, I had a bridge with me and they didn't even look twice then.

I've been to plenty gigs with a camera (in a camera bag) & they've never bothered. A lot of the time they search the bag & ask about it, but only ever out of curiosity

I went to the O2 I'm Bristol and all bags were searched. I have to agree tho that a bridge would be you best bet for less hassle.
