Eh? It was a serious question! Which version of Alien do you prefer?

:) The first one without a shadow of a doubt.
Sorry - I thought you'd picked that up from my post and were joking.
Been a very long day today and I may not be thinking or typing completely coherently at the moment.

(which is probably why I'm safer posting in here than being let loose on any moderating activity tonight)

yeah but which version of the first one?

:bonk: Guys, do you get the feeling that I should just give up and go to bed tonight?
And I can't even blame alcohol - not had a drop tonight, it's the effects of 12 hours of non-stop conference calls.

Anyway, to the question at hand I really have a soft spot for the original theatrical release that was aired on TV in the early 80s. I was about 9 and my parents allowed me to stay up late and watch it and that's when I first fell in love with the film. The director's cut didn't quite have the same atmosphere for me, or maybe just didn't live up to the memories and iirc the 25th anniversary version had quite a few bits cut out of it. (although the state that my brain is in tonight, I could be getting my versions completely mixed up and may completely change my mind after I've slept)

Going back to the thread title, I hadn't actually seen Taken so I rented it from iTunes this evening. I have to say, I found it a bit meh. I didn't find his character believable and I don't think it was his finest hour as an actor. The amount of Grecian 200 used on his bonce didn't really help either.
