Right then, I thought I'ld give Alamy a go, throw some images up and see what happens.

I put my first four up yesterday and thankfully they were all accepted :D

Now I haev to go back and tag them all up, so, how do you guys tag your images? Are there any recommendations that would be beneficial?

I'm still in shock that they were accepted as they were all images straight out of the camera as per the sites requirements and keep hearing of people saying their images being rejected. As a newcomer to photography it was a buzz to get my first uploads accepted :D

Congrats on the achievement!!

I normally tag in Bridge before uploading to any stock sites, but Alamy has a nice image manager (V2.4) which is a doddle to use. Just drag and drop the unmanaged images, tag, keyword etc as a batch (if required), then save; it is that simple.

Thanks Gary...

Just tagged my first four images :D Now trying to figure out why they are showing as ready but not for sale?

Looking through the help files theres supposed to be an icon looks like a square split into four smaller squares that I can click on but can't find it!

I've tagged and set the attributes, knowing nothing about licensing I'm guessing Royalty Free gives me the best chance of selling ?? Now I'm just trying to figure out how to get them to show as for sale, any further help ?

Thanks again :D

I thought I would give it a go, the worst that could happen is they say no lol...

I'm rarely happy with my photo's as I tend to crit my own shots more heavily than most on here [read heavily crit my photos please] and would love to attempt to make some money from my shots or set myself a challenge.

Most people I talk to say that Alamy is a pain to get shots accepted so I tried to upload a couple. I registered months ago but never had the balls to upload some images to see what happened.

I was happy with a couple of shots I have taken so gave it a go...

Very happy that they were accepted, will be bouncing off the ceiling in the unlikely event one actually sells :D

On alamy you've gotta be in it for the long run, many people say it takes a year to see a sale with 100+ photos online. Maybe so but I managed to get lucky with a decent sale after 4 months with about 12 online. Since then I've had nothing though and it's coming onto a year, however alamy has been my highest earning site since I started selling photos online with this one sale. They are quiet accepting on photos as they only look on the technical quality of the photo, is up to the buyer to decode whether or not a photo is worth buying. Dont let that put you off though, so long as you have photos that stands out from the rest and very importantly keyworded well you should see some sales. And it's great to see that someone is willing to spend $165 on a low res copy of one of your photos!

I have almost 2,000 images on Alamy - and it all works just fine! THEY DON'T BOTHER ABOUT CONTENT AS LONG AS YOU PASS THE TECH ok. Watch for what the customers are looking for and upload these sort of images and you'll (eventually) do OK!
