Tablet prices are goig DOWN. Blackberry Playbook £169!

I'm waiting for RIM to decide that it's silly to flush a quarter of a billion dollars down a Playbook shaped toilet, then do an HP and dump them all for less that a ton.

No more than 6 inches anyway...

OS 2.0 will enable porting apps from Android. It might be a second life for BB products.

I'm really happy to see that tablet prices are going down where they should be.
I will be hunting for 10'' one

I've seen the Motorola Xoom 3g for £399 and the 32gb wifi version for £329 (in Comet), the Xoom 2 is out now so the older models are dropping in price but they are still good kit.

Of course they are! I'll be perfectly fine with the first generation of tablets. I will be using it as a portfolio and for business related apps, I won't do gaming or filming in 3D on it.

I was so gutted that I've missed HP Touchpad firesale, it would be perfect for me!

Well I am still very happy with my Hannspree Hanspad running Nvidia's dual-core Tegra 2 mobile processor 16GB of memory (which can be expanded) and with Android 3

All for just £150

200 pounds for the Xoom is pretty good, as are the Playbook prices, I paid a similar price for the 64gb Playbook a couple of months back and I'm really enjoying it, been using the OS 2.0 beta for a few weeks and running a fair few Android Apps (including the TP Android App!!) for the sale prices I'd say its a steal.

I was ready to buy playbook, but then I went to CPW and compared sizes. 10'' will be perfect for my needs. But yes, Playbook is SO well made. Great little device!
I guess it will be early morning tomorrow.

There are some rumours about Amazon dropping prices tonight, including Lenovo tablet for £150. I guess it will be the 7'' version

I hoping to get one myself. You will have to get to the shop early, possibly queue. The thread about XOOM on hotukdeals is extremely hot.

HP Touchpad nightmare strikes back

I've already previously owned the Xoom having bought one on a whim at Edinburgh Airport a few months back and it was sold within a week, frankly the Playbook to me seems a nicer tablet but for that price I do fancy giving Android another go, but yes I think it might be hard to get.

That said it wouldn't surprise me to see other retailers follow suit really as the Xoom hasn't sold all that well up until now and with the Xoom 2 and especially the new Quad Core Android tablets due out in early 2012 I'm sure that a lot of folk are waiting for those.

Now sir... I won't let you go away! Tell me: is Xoom a good tablet to go for?
All I care is screen quality (brightness, colour, contrast) and day to day apps. I don't think I will be playing games on it.

Honestly for the price the Xoom is a good tablet, especially as the rest of the similar specced Android tablets are much dearer (Asus Transformer, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10, Acer Iconia).

I wasn't bowled over by the screen and in fact its one of the major complaints of the Xoom thats its screen is not brilliant, app wise its fine it will run anything that Android can throw at if for now, aside from the soon to be released Asus Prime the Xoom is as powerful as any other Android tablet out there for now.

Now that UK Xoom owners can upgrade to the latest Honeycomb the tablet is supposedly a much more usable item, there's even an ICS rom out for it if you're so inclined.

I suspect most of the current tablets (aside from the iPad and Samsungs) will come down in price over the next few weeks as we're getting to the end of the real "First Gen" Android tablets with the release of Quad Core tablets in Q1 2012, so most of them should be coming down in price, the reason the Xoom and Playbook are so cheap though is that sales of both have been pretty dire.

I just went through some random post codes. Very little stock. Try your area.

I've tried every city north of Birmingham right through to Scotland without any luck. Every one is now OOS.

Must have sold out now.

I agree, it is a decent tablet. Not for me (7'') but a lovely device. I think this deal is still on

Yeah same deal appears to still be on, I'm the same really I do love the 7" size for reading, video and portability but if I was to get another tablet it would really need to be 10" I think, which I think would be better for things like remote desktop.

Argh, I'm still waiting for 10''... I must admit, some deals for 7'' are very tempting.
