Hi folks I'm looking to get a tablet purely for the purpose of showing images mainly. The rather lovely iPads are way out of my budget I'm afraid so was hoping someone could point me to something cheap as possible that would fit my needs.

Preferably 10" but 8" would be fine also.

No need for any bells and whistles appart from a touchscreen which would be nice but not essential.

USB or CF slot essential.

budget - as cheap as possible. :D

Cheers for reading and looking forward to any advice.

Hello,

Are you looking to show them off on a Tablet for a reason? ie just showing friends or potential selling?

With tablets, for image quality you really do get what you pay for. The advent vega on ebay for £130 will show them off ok (also the hannspad), but they won't look any where near as sharp as on a decent tablet such as an IPad or Samsung Galaxy tab.

Cheers,

Tom

What about a digital photo frame? Any tablet would do the job i think as majority of them have a usb slot and a sd card slot but highly doubt youd find one with a CF slot due to the size it would have to be.

I have a PlayBook, the screen pixel density is better than the ipad2, you can sideload eyefi software, its got the best performing html5 browser out there and is currently available at bargain prices. In the hand it feels really good in terms of quality and the hmi is more intuitive than android or ipad.

Perhaps worth finding one running os2 and having a play.. But get someone who knows how to use one to give you a demo, or look on YouTube first so you know about the bezel gestures.

You can get some decent Acer tablets that aren't badly priced.
