I am due an upgrade of my K800i and decided after a long drawn out comparison process that I would give the new Samsung Tocco a try.

So I phoned T-mob and they said give it another month until after your early upgrade option and phones like that would be free.. fair enough.

So I phoned back today and I was told that the Samsung Tocco is out of stock and so is my second choice the Sony C902.. but they have LG Viewtys which I have no real interest for.

Now if I go and buy a new contract I could have a Samsung at my door tomorrow as they dont say they are out of stock (If i did I would have to wait nearer month till my existing contract expired).

Are they having me on or do they have a pool of phones for upgrades that has run out?
Can I go to a shop to upgrade?

I don't think they go for that these days.. Used to be that the threat of cancelling would make them sharpen their pencil but nowadays I think they rate how valuable you are.. I'm probably not very valuable at £20pm and not much call costs on top of my rental.

In which case change provider anyway, to one who will give you the phone you want.

I might do that.. the only other problem is they have been great in the last however many years I've been with them.. Never had any problems and found their customer service second to none.

02 has mediocre customer service, Vodafone users at my work are always moaning about wrong charges, vodaphone selling their number, lack of service and failing messages over the weekends.. Orange could be a consideration but dont have any info about them?

I've been on Orange PAYG for years, never had to call their service number.

I've been with 3 for a good while now - never had any problems with them. Their tariffs still seem the best around at the moment too. Due my early upgrade from them in November, so I'm hanging on for a bit before I choose :)
