I really liked one of the pictures I took when I went to Denmark, and after seeing the Danish Tourist Board's image of the same attraction I thought I'd approach them and ask if they could/would use mine.

Now, they've got back to me asking about terms and conditions.
I'm actually not fussed at all about payment, but I would like a name check under the image.

Any thoughts?
Cheers

No thoughts on the T&C but I would chop off most of the foreground on yours

I prefer yours! i guess your terms should be something along the line of:

"image must be credited with my name/website at all times, if credit is not given, an invoice will be issued at the full rate for use of said photograph"

That said, they seem willing so it might be worth asking for some money ;)

They can only say no

You basically need to specify what they can use the image for.

Web
Print (Leaflet)
Print (Magazine)
Print (Small poster)
Print (Large Poster)
Print (Postcard)
Print (Photo for sale)
Digital (Web)
Digital (Web for sale)

Will you allow manipulation?
How much manipulation? Just cropping?
How long is this license for?
Is it exclusive? IE Can you sell the image to someone else?
Are they buying complete rights to it, or just a license (In which case all the above applies)
Are you handing over copyright? (No youre not ;))
Right to credit and attribution on all instances (IE Your name accompanies the photo wherever it goes).

Those are most of the things you should be stating when setting out your license/t&c's.

Thanks Marcel, that's the kind of info I was after :)
