System Restore

Running win 10 on pc 8 gb ram How long would it take a 2tb HD to complete, it's been running now about 2.5 hours and I'm thinking it is maybe stuck. If I remember correct system restore on a smaller 1 tb drive only took around 15 - 20 min. Get the odd flicker from HD light but I'm not sure if anything is happening.

Not sure that disk size is a major factor. SR restores the system files and settings to a previous condition. I don't think that the sysfiles will be much bigger (if at all) because the disk is bigger, Frank.

If you have to kill it it should still restart as before and just say could not complete.
It shouldn't be restoring the whole 2TB drive - it is just the Windows and programs which might have changed?
I'd be surprised if it took more than an hour - try a different point if there is one.

Had to do a cold boot to restart it in the end, uninstalling a large program that went doolally (AutoCAD would you believe) It wouldn't uninstall properly , ended up clearing all the registry entries out manually, probably still some left. back up and running again. Tried some registry cleaners but these were a waste of time.
