I did this a few years ago and although I struggled it was a massive achievement for me to finish. Not using the camera much these days so I'm trying again and hopefully get motivated with photography again
Welcome back, Mark, and hopefully the 52 will provide the inspiration you're looking for this year.
Good choice of song and an excellent image to suit (and a very tidy car!) but now that someone has suggested the gear stick should have been in 'Drive' I can't unsee that! Good luck with your 52.
With hindsight I have to agree, I tried a few themes and this was kind of last chance and a bit hurried. The focus point was D but it would certainly of worked better being in 'drive'
Heh, I saw that the car was in Park too, How about Blur's Park Life instead?
Good sharp image. Presumably the slightly odd angle and cutting the cup holder was to prevent something else coming into the frame?
Why didn't I think of 'Parklife'? Probably because I didn't think it through well enough to put it in drive either, close but not quite there sums my photography up. It was taken in the showroom at work at about 7.15 this morning and the light wasn't brilliant, this seemed the best angle with the light available, coupled with not wanting to miss the first week I was more focused on getting a shot. the concept of drive was more 'going for a drive' but it would of worked much better with a bit more thought.
Heh, It's Week 0, so just a bit of fun.
You wait until the slithery one start pulls the obtuse themes from his bag of horrors.
That some of the shots posted are tenuous would be putting it politely.
Good luck with your 52 this time Mark, the weekly challenge certainly is motivating.
I didn't notice it was in park, but I did think it was a good choice for your song ...you're off, that's the main thing, looking forward to following your 52.
Welcome to the 52, your comment above about your photography being close but not quite there definitely sums me up pretty well (and probably plenty others on here). I noticed the gear level not being in Drive but other than that really liked the shot.
I really like the angle, it draws your eye from the front to the back really nicely. Nice natural selective colour too without having to use that horrible processing.
Drive is a nice clean shot the drive position has been mentioned
I thought the second one had been altered colour wise but obviously not, certainly in order though
I like the pink/black colour combo as well as the angle which accentuates the narrowing perspective. Maybe remove the window frame (?) on the right - blank or even crop it out.
A fair bit posher than my Sykes Pickavant spanners, i bet the pink is a b****r to keep clean.
Good use of the DoF to have the closest handles in focus.
There seems to be a trend about me taking photos at work due to lack of time to actually get out with the camera! A work colleague happily helped with this shot, and my biggest problem was the background. I shot at f2.8 which meant I had to choose to focus on the person or the food. I did two shots but I think the person in focus worked better. There is a huge highlite on his nose that I couldn't remove and it not be obvious but Im still here and upto date
