Afternoon all,

Just thought i'd announce i'm switching sides!! :)

I've bought a Nikon D200 & Kit lens and i've sold my Canon 400D & Kit :)

I've gotta learn all over again my settings and i somehow need to source an equivalent of the 70-300 IS that i had!!! So anyone any ideas which lens i need?? ;)

Am really happy and wanna get out play now :) Should maybe have some free time to do so soon :)

Em

Yep, the lens you need is a Canon 70-300 IS, so you need to sell the Nikon and get a Canon 40d ;) lmao

Nikon 70 - 300 VR fits the bill, around £350 now after the price increase

double post!

The 70-300 VR is the equivalent. If you can't find new or don't have the spare cash they do come up quite regularly S/H as people upgrade from them to the 70-200 f2.8 VR and desperately want some money back. As soon as I find enough cash to I get my 70-200VR I'll be selling mine (but that might be a few months off yet :()

Woooooooo! :D

Congrats and welcome to the dark side :)

They're regularly on fleabay for about £300, which I think is overpriced for 2nd-hand.

An interesting choice to go to the D200 as opposed to the 40D.So what was your reasoning ?
Pete.

As Simon says, the 70-200 2.8 VR is a lens I lust after, but not on the agenda
unfortunately,
After getting the 17-55 2.8 I would just love one..

SOOOOOOOOOO sweet

Oh, welcome to the dark Em ,but I would like to know also why not an upgrade

Sorry - WOMAN :D

That's if it turns up........

Welcome aboard the good ship Nikon :D

I done the self same thing a few months ago.
Mainly because I didn't want to join the 'lusting over white lens's' club.

I think this is a good place to leave this ;)

I found the canon's to be soft on image compared to my friends with Nikons :P

My dad and a few others also prefer and seemed like a next step up was a good time to change! am still trying to get the hang of all the settings *** ;)

ALL GOOD FUN :) am loving it so far :)

I too have just jumped ship - there's no right and wrong here, only what works for you!

Cheers,
James

Jumped ship to Nikon, or from Nikon to Canon

And you are wrong, its all about the Canon ;)

Well I'm a Nikon (D300) owner at the moment but i have to say the 5D Mk II is quite tempting.

Surely does not matter what camera it is..... its the person behind it doing the magic..

good move

if you cant find a Nikon 70-300 VR for decent money is it worth your while saving that little bit extra for a Sigma 70-200 F2.8?

Yeah, but only magic people with common sense buy Canon!

You can however lust after "Tropical Grey":)

At a guess I'd say the white lens refers to Canon L series lens, and the tropical grey is some other companies lens.

Are the sigmas any good ***? I've heard bad reviews?
