I nearly just posted this in 'what cheered me up today', but what do the cheap seats think about a judge trading insults with a waste of space?

Contains a few swearies

For those unaware

I thought she could have handled it a little better than that TBH.

But then again, perhaps that is the only language he understands?

she should know better, and set a good example. not appropriate at all.

I have no issue with it at all, it's the only language this idiot knows. He's a nasty piece of work with no respect for anyone and it really doesn't bother me that she reacted and replied this way.

i work in health care and receive abuse from people who are drunk or on drugs or just not nice people, i wouldn't dream of giving it back. outside work- that's different. as already said increase his sentence for contempt of court don't lower to his standards

Lowering herself to his level wasn't necessary IMHO.
I would have added a few months onto his sentence for his outburst.
Agree, should have skimpy recalled him, and added time for abusive comment. No need for the judge to behave like that, simply show how we do it in the UK.

I guess it's the same standards that prevent teachers, policemen (policewomen for the PC brigade) etc from being respected by todays youth.

Maybe the lack of respect from (some of) today's youth springs from the lack of standards held by their parents?

Imagine if teachers, policemen etc lowered their standards to the point where they acted and spoke like (some of) the youth of today.

I would hate it, if they lowered their standards. Good thing, the majority do not lower themselves.

Never argue with a fool - they will drag you down to their level and then beat you on experience.

There's probably no satisfying answer for someone like this: nothing short of a complete change of heart attitude will make them wish to be socially acceptable. Execution would be effective, but that's not acceptable either.

up for the longest possible sentence.
I worked at the same place as a guy a few years ago, that was a little bit of a jail bird, The judge gave him 6 months, I think it was a repeated anti social something or other.
Being the t***t he was, he laughed and said, I can do that standing on my head.

The judge replied, well in that case, you'd better have another 6 months to get back on your feet again.

Go Judge go

I love her.
When you're addressing the lowest denomination, the only way to do it so that they understand, is to use language they understand.

Well in that case she should have called him a f*****g c*** :)

20 metre chain round his ankle, bolted to his house somewhere. Let his family and friends take care of him rather than housing and feeding him at the tax payers' expense. Repeat offences? Shorten the chain until he's bolted to the karzi.

Given her sentencing options, I wouldn't have faulted her for it. :-)

Read this today and thought it was brilliant. The bloke is in idiot and would have loved to have seen the look on his face when she responded!

We haven't seen the full account of the trial and she had probably reached the end of her patience ,so good on her .looking at his photo and history he does seem a charming chappie .
I also know from personal experience that royalty swear exactly the same or worse than most in private ,but they learn at a early age how to switch it off and talk nicely in public

Nah, you're a few inches out...

Oh, I don't know. Nothing wrong with the defendant that couldn't be cured with a little injection ...

...administered by a fellow inmate after dropping the soap?

I think calling him what she did and only giving him an 18 month sentence he should consider himself lucky!!!

What a vile excuse of a human being he is! Obviously previous convictions/sanctions haven't changed his behaviour. Not sure what the solution is but he's definitely got no cause for complaint against the judge! If anything he's had a taste of his own medicine!

I doubt whether he would have noticed - that kind of language will be normal for him.

Judges are only human, but she will have plenty of experience of dealing with people like him and I think that it was wrong of her to sink to his level and respond in that way.

I think you are being a bit liberal there youngster

Seem that the judge in question has dealt with one idiot too many.

Give the lady an OBE for telling as it is.
