weekly Susiejb 52 in 2015 Christmas ...and that's me finished for 2015

Hi Susie, sorry I've not been here for a while.
Religious - that works really well for me, a very dramatic and biblical-looking sky!
Geometric - super colours and much respect for not catching any nasty unwanted reflections like I'm sure I would have!
Fashion - definitely #2 for me - a slightly different take on the theme and a beautifully captured object.
Chilled - brrrr! I shuddered as soon as I saw this and certainly felt the icy water. Full marks for both the shot and your bravery!

Hi Elaine ... Thanks for looking in and taking the time to comment, I felt a bit silly doing the chilled one, but it's all for a good cause ...I think o_O

Hey Susie :)

Fashion - Wow now that is colorful, a great comic image, nicely pieced together and you have kept the brightness and tones very even for each section (y)

The glass thing appears to be floating in space and a tad fuzzy at the base, although I like the colours :)

Chilled - Sure looks it in this weather, I feel it needs 'something' but not sure what... still nice clear water, and ripples, also the foot coming in from the corner works okay too :)

Thanks for taking the time to comment DK ....very much appreciated :)

I've seen quite a few photos using these on the internet lately and I really fancied having a go at it, so I ordered my crystal ball off eBay and it found its way to me all the way from Turkey. I have quite a few ideas I want to try out so these were very much experimental shots.

Hi Susie.
Special (effect). two really nice shots there. If I had to choose, then the first one as in the second there is more to distract you.
I also prefer the deeper colours in the first shot.

What were you using (and where can I get it from?)

The watery reshoot is less my cup of tea. I understand what you're doing, but for me it's an uninteresting shot (but that's just me, others may love it).

Hi Tim ....I agree about the first two, I think perhaps they do work best when you have a clear background. It was listed on eBay as an '80mm Asian Rare Natural Quartz Clear Magic Crystal Healing Ball' o_O it seems as if the possibilities with it are endless :)

The Watery one ....I really liked the patterns and textures in it. Perhaps I'll have a fiddle with that one and see if I can liven it up a bit.

Hey Susie that ball certainly is magic ... I love the sky in first one.

Watery reshoot is nice but is it really a contender for the B&W treatment?

Hi @d00d Watery ....I took it in b&w ....I'll have a look to see if I did it in colour too, I just felt the b&w gave it a grainy textured feel and I loved all the different waney lines and the horizontals

Glad you like my crystal ball ....look into my eyes :D

Hi Susie :)

Special Effects - Really like these, The wonk black top of the first distracts slightly, but not enough to ruin the photo, liking that you have reversed the images to get the reflection in the globe the right way up :)

Re-Shoot Watery - Oh wow, really like this, love the combination of horizontals and wavy verticals, the B&W works well too with the glistening water

I prefer the first sky Special effect shot. Agree with Dean about the slight wonky black line at the top. I think a slight straighten would help the image here.

Nice pattern of the watery reshoot. Personally I would crop out the top two horizontal lines.

Thanks DK and Stan ...I had the sloping line at the top as originally I was going to use it the other way up and I wanted it to look as if it was rolling downhill, but I should have straightened it up when I turned it !

DK I'm glad you like my beach shot, I love it, but I guess it's a bit of a marmite one.
Thanks Stan, but it was all the different lines that really caught my eye, as I said to DK I think it's a bit of a marmite one

A very well executed shot Susie, I like how you have blended the water shot in from the bottom, it really works and the title is rendered obsolete.
I'm guessing that like most of us you've had your sad times, well done for getting the emotion across succinctly.

Hi Susie, really well composited shot, perfectly sums up the rather awful topic, very fitting indeed.

I like the watery reshoot though I would crop the top couple of cm off, but that's probably just me

I have not looked at whats left in the bag for themes but hopefully it will get better, I have been on the verge of quitting recently

Thanks for your comment Brian, much appreciated...I was really stumped for an idea so I was pleased in the end how this turned out.

Thanks Allan ...it was a stinker of a topic wasn't it ....I hope you stay in, I guess these difficult ones do make us think !
I haven't looked at whats ahead either ...I like the surprise (or the disappointment :))

Wow ... powerful stuff susie ... very nicely put together (y) Is it two, or more, shots ... there seem to be light rays there in the darkness?

Hi Susie

Chilled - what lovely feet you have and a great idea for the theme :)

Special - I prefer the second shot because there is so much to look at (y)

Despair - Says it all and far to clever for m PP skills. Great representation

Hi Susie,

A bit of a catch up on comments.
Special: Nice effects. I quite like the topsy turvy perspective of the second image.
Watery: Lovely image - quite taken with the unusual pattern, reflections and the b&w tonal range. Agree with Allan about cropping the top edge.
Despair: Yes, a powerful image as David says ... great interpretation by the model as well as the photographer. Like the layer blending.

Hi Susie Yet another catch up from me (seems like normal now always on the catch up, must get out of the Rat Race)
Chilled ..... Love the foot shot, is this the "My foots 12 inches long but don't use it as a Rule joke" ;) I can appreciate the chilled aspect of this as I have swan in some of those mountain LLyn's (Lakes) that the streams feed and flow from and there Bloody Cold! Nice clean clear shot and really chilled.
Special .... uummmm that's nice(y) Like that idea ..... if you look to buy another one don't search for clear balls in Google:eek:.... its surprising what you get! I could see how that might work with some landscape work! I like both of those shots find it hard to separate them I think I like the way the shells in the second one are pushed toward you, but really like the effect on the clouds in the first (Ignoring the black wedge). Wonder what a sunset would look like through this.... Nice Job(y).
Watery .... ah crikey a reshoot :( and I'm struggling to catch up as it is:eek::). I guess your sunk without your original Watery:rolleyes:. There groovy waves in the sand, its amazing how the natural world comes with such natural beauty isn't it! I think id just crop off the very dark area at the top other than that looks good!
Despair .... Looks like me on Friday evening when yet another theme comes out:ROFLMAO::(. Nice shot like the muted B&W image, adds to the feeling being portrayed, think this really fits the theme exceptionally well. Although you didn't like the theme you produced a very nice image(y)

Thanks @d00d ...I found it hard to think of something but was pleased in the end, it's just one watery overlay so the rays were part and parcel of the effect.

Drowning in despair, nice one.

I don't mind the water, but would like to see it without. Well processed as well.

Cheers.

Hi Andy @posiview ...thanks for looking in ...this was the original which I guess would have done I just thought it needed extra drama to portray despair. Its very dark so not sure if you will see it on your computer.

Cool creative stuff ... brilliantly photographed and put together. I love the scroll down.

Hi Susie, nicely caught, I too was wondering how many shots it took

good idea to put it in a downward strip too (y)

Excellent idea Susie, very original. #3 must have been challenging to capture. Like it.

Hi Susie :)

Despair - really like that, nicely put together for a tough theme, liking the colours and just enough of each subject :)

Noise - Another good idea, not the sharpest of images, but really liking how you have done this, good blacks and the border and pin colours work a treat

Nice little story line. Well done. (y)

Thanks Brian and DK :)
DK I do agree, I didn't spend as much time as I normally would 'faffing' I just put the black card on top of the cooker in the kitchen and took them  and I think it shows in the quality of the photos, my intention was to do it again properly but I just didn't get around to it.

Envy ...phew, I think somewhere Carl said it's the hardest yet ....and I agree ...apart from the green eye which has already been done brilliantly I was at a loss. I tried putting two photos together but I just couldn't get them to fit, so as it's Friday and the new topic is out I've resorted to this one.

Hi Susie. I really like that one for Envy - says it all quite simply. A definite 3D quality about it - very well taken Susie
