hi

wanting to find out if people have done any or much of the above? my iPads getting tired and not sure how good it will be on my MacBook Air so wondered on one of these, not looking to buy a 3, 2 or earlier model?

thanks in advance

There's another thread on here about the Surface Pro 3 - general consensus is it a fine for anything except very high resolution images (say above 24MP)

I have the cheap Dell equivalent and that manages 5D3 images acceptably - my brief play with a Surface Pro 3 felt entirely smooth.

l just returned one after 48 hours due to a technical fault and got a refund but in that time it convinced me it could easily fill my photography needs (D750 ) so I think I will wait a few weeks to see what the surface Pro 4 brings before making a firm decision as its a lot of cash and not yet enough to replace my home PC fully.

It was always fine on my MacBook Air i7 8GB 512SSD and it is still fine on my Surface Pro 3 i5 8GB 256/128SSD. I run the full Adobe suite on it.

thanks guys, it's not the 4 or 3 I'd be buying though, I suspect the 2 would run similarly to the three although I understand the pen is different

The SP2 has a higher spec than the the Dell I have (which was bought for office work in my non-photo job) so you should be fine.

thanks guys, I've been offered a 1 at a reasonable price if i wait until the 4 is out when he is planning on upgrading, bonus

I have a surface pro 2 I bought second hand a couple of months ago. It's an i5 version with 8gb ram. That runs cs6 fine. I don't think you'll have any problems but what spec surface pro 2 is it?

the one I've been offered is the one, not sure of the ram spec, I think... all the i5s in the one are the same
