Can anyone recommend a good support cushion for an elderly person who sits for long periods? Currently using one from a wheel chair but it's not helping.

It's a long shot but you never know... I'm trying to get medical recommendations but it's like pulling teeth. The reviews on Amazon are a help but I just wondered if anyone here has any recommendations.

same question, to sit on, or against? My mum, who was wheelchair bound, replaced her standard chair foam with a memory foam cushion, but the thing with these things is that everyone is different. As Matt says, best place is local disability aids shop or local NHS mobility support office, who might be able to offer ideas and cushions to test even if you then go and buy your own.

When you say support do you mean the memory foam type to avoid pressure ulcers...if so try your local disability supply shop

Yes. That's the sort of thing.

Doctors and nurses have so far sadly been pretty much zero help but I'll try a disability shop. Just looking for any personal recommendations to keep in mind.

Doctors and nurses are not the right people for this.

You need to speak to OT (Occupational Therapy) who will sort out the supply of these things.
