I'm looking to get a superzoom compact to carry around in my handbag when it's just not practical to carry around my dslr, and also to carry with my dslr for my other half to use so he doesn't get bored! I would appreciate any advice people have on these. I've seen that some of them do geo tagging which could be handy for travel shots. Does anyone else carry a compact as well as their dslr - if so what do you use?

A few that I am interested in are:

Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ30
Sony Cybershot HX20V
Fuji Finepix F770

I'm looking to spen up to £300.

Thanks for any help :)

I have a Sony HX20V, bought it to replace a HX9V that I lost. For every day use it's great. It's got so that I carry the wee Sony pretty much every day and the DSLR only comes out the bag when I'm having a camera day out or need the DSLR for a specific job a compact can't do. There's £40 cashback on the Sony at the moment and until the middle of the month.

Thanks Alastair - I had a play with the othe 2 in a shop today but didn't see the Sony, so will be back tomorrow to try that one out.

Hey,

I'm also looking for one of these for taking to music gigs, I've read review after review, and from what I read the Panasonic TZ30 is the standout contender, I have a TZ10, and it's been a great little camera, and all reviews state panasonic have improved on this with the TZ20 and now the TZ30.

I'm also looking at the Panasonic DMC-FZ150, which isnt really compact i dont think, need to get myself along to a camera shop and have a look.

But for me at the moment it's between the Panasonic DMC-FZ150 (Depending on size) and the TZ30.
