Hi,

Last year both my grandparents passed away, and in the house we've found an old Bell & Howell Cine camera with a Kodak "super 8" cartidge in it.

We'd really like to get this developed so that we can see what was recorded, if anything was recorded.

I'm just wondering if there's anywhere that still processes this film?
It says on the cartridge "Price includes processing", but I doubt they will honour that.

I've had a quick google, but there's not much info for the UK. Think I read they can only be developed in the US? That can't be right

Anyone know about these things?

Thanks

djs

[edit] - Just to add to that, it's kodachrome 40 film

Sprog had some kodachrome done not long back, I think it goes to the US, who in turn probably send it to Switzerland for processing.
There is no home processing for kodachrome afaik, the process is too complicated.
It would be funny if were it not so pathetic.
Nope, I'm not joking about Switzerland.

Here, raa had some done, Dwaynes is in the US

edit, actually reading it through raa says it goes to Switzerland first and they send it to Dwaynes...

Dwaynes they have a price for super 8 K40

Thanks for the reply.

Will have to look into this.

I just hope there's actually something on the film after all this.

Good luck, Dwaynes have a good reputation, they might be the only place on Earth that process kodachrome, that includes 35mm stills.

Super 8..., I have a projector in the loft, heck I even have 2 cine cameras that shoot super 8 given to me by...old folks.
I did run it, I watched a 15 minute film called "Hot Rod"....it was disgusting, old peeps shouldn't be watching that stuffs
porn on super 8 :suspect:, good job auntie Edith has kicked the bucket, or I'd be having something to say about that..

I'll be old soon, if not all ready :|

Outside the US of A it couldn't even be processed independently, never mind privately, so complex is the process!

Clutching at straws here, but the mention of Super 8 compels me to post just to ask if anyone has a name or address for anyone who can service/repair an Elmo S8 projector?

No, thought not. :(
