The weather here is depressing me - it's cold and snowing - and it's my day off :annoyed:

Soooo..... I'm going to book my holiday today :) We are planning on going to California later this year - part holiday, part scouting the area out as we are hoping to emigrate there sometime very soon.

Has anyone else got their jollies planned / sorted for this year?

Me and the present Mrs Blue went to the US last year for our main hols and that included San Fran. Loved the place.

We're oft to Mallorca again for a week in June which we do most years. But I'm in the process of planning the main hols in South Africa. Except..... spanner in the works.... we've just learned we're on a free 6* cruise in the Med in May :woot: Oh dear. What's a man to do

We went away twice last year, the first time was in August when the "no fluid restrictions" crisis was at its peak, the second was during the fog around christmas. So this year we've decided to stay in the UK.
Got a few days in Edinburgh, then a week on the Isle of Seil, near Oban (hoping to get some decent shots from there) and 5 days in the cotswolds at easter.

Canoeing down The River Wye for a week with my son, in a two man canoe. Camping every night, well until we get over damp anyway, then we'll run to the nearest B&B. :D

Sausages beans and Ray Mears survival book, so that we can pretend lol. ...and plenty of time to do absolutey nothing.

It’s only a class one river, no rapids but it does flow quite quickly.... longest day between camp sites will be six hours in a canoe... hmm sore.

My Dans into a movie making so he's shooting the whole trip and I'm going to photograph it.

I'm just booking my New Years trip to Las Vegas.

Should be a laugh! It came out of a drunken conversation with a mate, we always either go to someone's house or end up in a pub. So he said do you want to go to Vegas, and I said "Why not"

Job done!

Sounds like great fun Adam!

Min - you lucky girl!

I've spent a few holidays in CA recently - Torrey Pines, San Diego, Indian Wells, Palm Springs, Del Mar - fantastic place. If you get the chance to pop over the state line into Arizona then you also have Sedona and Flagstaff (just south of the Grand Canyon) - amazing photo opps.

This year my US friend is coming over here so i have a trip to Marakech in May - not quite the same but colourful and spicy non-the-less

Still, just thinking about the US; Mojave desert, Joshua Tree, Painted Desert...... I'm going to try to pursuade her that she's playing host again in the Autumn :)

planning CA next year with golf clubs and camera for my big 40. this year its a couple of weekends to berlin, barcelona and amsterdam. just back from geneva and still sorting out decent pics for a post.

Well, my wife, daughter and myself were going to go to Malta as my parents live out there. Thing is they are coming back in April for a few months and then possibly going to Greece to live so i'm not sure where we are going.

We are going camping in the lakes in July though, i don't think they will be going anywhere

I have family in Long Beach CA. Great area that has really built up in the last decade. San Fran is the MOST expensive place to live in the US so I'd stear clear unless you are minted. I was born in LA and absolutely love the beach there. Have fun!

Do NOT go to Vegas without planning one sober day visiting the Grand Canyon :)

Absolutely, I might go on the skywalk that`s just opened. We`ve already decided on a helicopter trip over the Canyon.

Off to Florida in July for 2 weeks with Beverley and the kids. One week in Orlando doing the Disney thing and the other week chilling out in Naples in the Everglades :)

Hmmm a week in the dales so far planned and it is only a couple of weeks away now :) but thats it so far this year, matt has big project on at work so wont have time off till end of the year.

Got a week of fishing booked in May down near Torrington in Devon, then sometime between August and December me and the Mrs should be off to Perth, Australia.......forever!
