Hello i kno im pretty new to these forums and new to Photography, But as i only won my Sony A230l im allready looking at a change as the one main thing i want in a camera is live view. So now im at a point of what camera to go for next, So far im looking at another Sony A550 and Nikon D5000 can anyone surgest which would be best i dont want another entry level camera because i like to be chucked in at the deep end. Or can anyone Surgest a better model im looking to spend no more the £700. Thanks

If you already have lenses for the Sony then maybe best to stay with the same manufactuer.

I would imagine the for sale bit of your post will be edited by a mod as there are rules for selling on the forum...

Suggestions maybe better aimed if you could give us an idea of what you want to take photo's off? I have the Canon 500D which would be well within your budget, has a good rear screen and very easy to get on with. Have you been to a local camera store and had a aplay with the different cameras to see what feels right ?

If you would consider second hand there is a very good classified section on here and you would be able to get more kit for your money...

Just bought a nikon d5000, went to local camers store and handled a few ie canon sony and the d5000, all much the same but the nikon did stand out, it has a nice feel to it the grip felt comfortable, did like the flip screen. have been using it for a few weeks and am very happy with it.

Yeh i ventured to a shop today in Narbeth a local town, played with the D5000 feels such a good quality camera, as far as what photos i want to take thats tough i like to do so much but i guess my faves are old building and scenery mostly... i also have not bought lenses for the Sony so a move to a diffrent make isnt a problem.

Why do you want/need live view?

I Guess i just like haveing a nice screen where i can sort of see what sort of picture im going to get with the changes i make i want to be able to take shots above my head and shots below my knee line, just the fact that a camera wth live view comes with both options and id like to have the choice...
