I'm looking at ways of semi-permanently fixing a cut-down IR filter over the built-in flash on a Fuji Instax Wide 300.

I'm fairly sure a small bead of Sugru would do the trick - it's go to be neater than the gaffer tape I'm currently using.

I've never used the stuff before and was wondering if anyone who's used it would recommend it for this type of application or perhaps could recommend an alternative.

BluTac ! Sugru isn't that great and costs a lot relatively, BluTac is reusable.

Sugru is amazing for cables. I've been using it for a couple years on my apple cables and haven't managed to break one yet.

It's not sticky as such once it dries but you could use it. Also blu tac would be good.

I do the exact same thing and it makes them pretty much indestructible! The amount of 30pin cables I went through before doing this is probably in the double digits!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'd tried BluTac early on but it didn't adhere well to the plastic.

I had considered using a 3D printer to make a mould to cast a silicon rubber hood that would hold the filter and glove over the housing. But life is too short and gaffer tape was a quicker solution.

I think I'll get some Sugru and give it a try.
