I have a 580EX and ST-E2 which for most of what I do is fine. However, I would like to have a play with a second flash, but having just bought a 5D Mk3 cannot afford another Canon speedlight. My wife would kill me!
Can anyone suggest a cheap flash that I could use with my existing setup? Could I use a manual flash with an optical slave? Would this work with the ST-E2 triggering the 580EX and the manual flash triggered by the 580EX?
I don't need anything too powerful as I will only be using it at distances of a few feet, maybe 10 feet maximum.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TBH I'm looking for something really cheap. If I find at a later date that I would like to get into it more, then I would consider a more expensive option.

565EX II are £98 brand new, even cheaper second hand. The 467 model will act as a wireless slave from the ST-E2 also from what I've read. I have the 565EX II and the canon ST-E2 with a canon 5D mk ii, so a similar setup.
 
Thanks James. I'm hoping for something around the £50 mark, but will take a look at your suggestions. :)
 
The Yongnuo 467 flashes are £49 new, so within your budget! Have a good look at them before buying to make sure its exactly what you want, but for the money they are very hard to beat.
