I a looking for a cheepish camera sub £200 just so i can chuck it in the back of my van when out on my mountain bike / camping etc. to take some decent pics its not going to be my main camera good change that it may get damp / wet when out and about.

So its a toss up between a D200 with a 50mm 1.8 or a or a D3200 body only ill need to get a lens later.

I am going towards the D200 but any thoughts?

get one that is good at dealing with damp and wet, cheap DSLRs aren't as a rule.

personally a decent compact and invest in a little dry bag.

why don't you get a go pro style camera if its for mountain biking etc????

ALL DELETED

Apologies for any offence caused.

Will go and stand in the corner for a few hours

For that sort of use I'd look at a second hand waterproof camera. Olympus, Canon and Sony do them, probably others as well. I've seen on Olympus waterproof, second hand for £125, so they're quite cheap if you look.
