Hi all,

After nearly 5 years or service i am due to leave my Currys store. I have enjoyed working with them, started at Dixons then moved over to Currys. My last day is Saturday and i want to do something for the staff that are still there.

In the past when people have left they have left tins of sweets and stuff, any one got any suggestions as to what i can do?

Ta in advance

you could tell them that no one actually wants the 3 year extended warranty.

my god the last three times I go in there to buy anything I get a 3 hour hardsell.

anyway.... order in some samosa's from a local takeaway... they always went down a treat at the place I worked at, they don't cost the earth and are a bit more substantial than some haribo junk.

LOL @ Steve. Yeah could order something from a take away but i dont know if we will have that much time. I was thinking of stuff like sweets as they can eat then for days to come.... any more ideas?

A couple of big Domino's pizzas would probably go down well for dinner, or get everyone a chippy???

Or get them some sweets, like everybody else has done! ;)

When they try and talk to you on your last day, pretend you're busy and disappear. Then re-appear but pretend to be halfway through something else and walk past them ignoring them, and disappear again.

Repeat this for 6 minutes.

Finally, go over to them offering no apology for the delay and ask them what they want. When they tell you, offer no useful response, look generally bored and like you couldn't care less, before picking an item of the shelf, looking blankly at the packaging and reading a couple of snippets of information out.

Hand them the packaging and shuffle away, as if the person has a contagious disease.

If they look puzzled; simply inform them they now know how their customers feel ;)

Don't take it personally - just having a laugh! ;);)

lollie DDP

buy an aerial splitter that works

Take a picture and frame it?

i'm hoping you were not expecting sensible responses to this

I thought normal practice was to have a whip-round for the departing colleague, not the other way round? Unless you take them all out for a doughnut/drink and they buy you a tie you didn't want?

Mine was :D A nice picture of all your work friends, presented ina nice frame. One for the staff room. It's costomary in my line of work to make a presentation when we leave. Most are framed images, or something else to brighten up communal areas. Some of them make light of 'in jokes', some a serious items given a lot of thought.

get a caterpillar cake! :D
