Suggest me a ballhead - budget £70-£150

In the market for a new ballhead in the budget range of £70 to £150 pounds. Easily able to manage payload of a DSLR with approx 2-3 kgs lens on it. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated,
 
Photo Show in March I think, at the NEC. If you can hold on until then you can take your research notes with you and get to try the heads on the manufacturers stands, often with a discount. Plus there is so much to look at there - great day out.
 
The Manfrotto MHXPRO-BHQ2 is worth a look.- retails for around £100, and is rated up to 10Kg payload.

I have one and it holds my Canon 7DmkII + Sigma 150-600mm (~3Kg total) with ease - it's pretty solid and I've been very pleased with it.

Iv'e had a couple of dozen ball heads over the last 30 years from the really expensive to the really really cheap. One of the ones I'm using at the moment just slightly above your £150 budjet is the Marcase FB-2R.

Easily as good as the way more expensive ones I've owned and so far ( year and a half of 2-3 days a week use) is still in pretty mint condition. I think Marcase is the designer from sunwayfoto gone solo. They do a cheper version. Fb-1. Will hold up to 18kg but havn't tried one so can't vouch for that one personally.

I have the Sirui K40X and it is a great Ball Head - but it is a bit of a monster;)

Still, if you like security, it will certainly do the job with any current Canon/Nikon lens - my Canon 800 F5.6 L IS + a 1 DX do not bother it. Have a look at the K20X and K30X versions, much as I like my K40X either of these models would probably have suited my needs better as they are more compact and lighter.
