I have a sony A77 and a bunch of a mount lenses plus our current family snappy camera, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT5EB-K which we tend to not use because phone cameras are just easier . I want a camera to take on hols that won't let me down and is lighter and easier to pack than the A77 but takes better photos/has lens options than the DMC and Phone.

I think I've narrowed down the choice to the Panasonic gx80 or the Sony A6000

Pros for the Sony are many, including the fact that (with the purchase of an adapter) I can use my existing A-Mount lenses - on paper it's the better camera.

However, I fancy a m4/3 camera (all those lenses!) and the non antialising filter on the Panasonic appeals greatly - the pictures look pin sharp.

Anything else I should be considering?

I've got an A6000 and it's a great camera, especially when paired with the Sigma 30mm f1.4 although this lens may be a little bulky for carrying around. The kit lens is surprisingly good and very low profile allowing the camera to fit in a decent pocket quite easily.

Well I have a bunch already for my A77 - which I'll probably save for Macro and Wide angle work (sigma 105mm, sigma 10-20mm, Helios 44-2mm, Minolta f.18 50mm, Sony SAL 30mm) - the CSC will probably be pressed into mostly street and the odd bit of wildlife. It would be "nice" to be able to do Macor shots (via a Raynox) while out and about, but not a necessity.

I guess you mean 'better on paper' because you have the lenses to go already? Otherwise, besides the bigger sensor it's not better at all. It's 2 year older tech, the GX80 has excellent 4K video - Panasonic do that better than any atm even on the cheaper models - it's got a great touch screen, the lenses will be a lot smaller and it's got 5-axis stabilization that will work with any lens you attach, even via adapters, and it has the better res EVF and LCD.

Actually I was going on what the comparison sites say. But it's moot now - I plumped for the Olympus + 2 lenses deal. Will do me great on my hos.

NEVER go by those comparison sites, they rate things like size and weight as pros and cons to plump out the lists. Like one camera will be 1mm longer than another, con! :D

All M4/3 lenses work across the board yup, just be careful 4/3 is the older Olympus mount, make sure there's an M in front ;) 'Four Thirds' lenses can still be bought, especially on the likes of ebay. They require an adapter to work on micro four thirds bodies, and AF will be extremely sluggish.

I like them all but a quick question about this cascade one, I know the IS is good but at 13seconds exposure I surmise for this you had a tripod or suitable rocks to place the camera???
 
It must be compensated for all the mulled wine [emoji485] that was consumed ! [emoji23]
 
I got the omd 10 mk2 a couple of weeks ago ,the pics are stunning from it ,take your time setting it up though as the menu is daunting ,I bought a full paper manual off e.bay for a fiver ,worth every penny
