Looking at some of the comments about the kit the price/quality ratio is what seems to get mentioned frequently. Basically it looks like you are getting what you are paying for.

Personally I would rather have one good head and stand, an umbrella and a reflector than all the cheap stuff. For similar money you could get the one good head and start to build a good set up that you could add to as your skills develop.

With studio equipment consistency of flash, duration of flash, colour temperature of flash, reliability, refresh rate, availability of spares, availability of light modifiers and safe operation are the key criteria. With cheap or poor equipment you can waste a lot of time because the flash power and/or colour temperature is inconsistent and varies between shots.

i didnt think it was allthat cheap to be fair. you could get a set of elinchrom d lites for £350 from www.theflashcentre.co.uk

the third head is a bulb holder only, not full flash looking at the picture. and with the bloke saying the kit doesnt fit the head i would avoid 2 reviews, one says terrific, other says terrible. not my sort of odds to be fair

Is it not also an American product? Which means they'll be running on 110v...so plug them in over here on 240v and you've just blown your 'bargain' sky high :D The heads are also only 150w each, and I was advised against this. I'm going with JP on this, I'd rather have one decent Elinchrom head with the accessories than that set. JMO.

I bought a 3 head Lencrata kit off ebay earlier this year & that's been great. Used it for a couple of school proms & never faulted or over heated even though it was pretty much contact for three hours at each. Only minor issue was the wireless triggers-I was in the same room as a glitter ball & it kept triggers the flash heads! Easily solved with a higher spec radio tigger set up.

Nothing much you can do about that, nothing to do with the wireless trigger, just light bouncing off the glitter ball and being picked up by the flash sensor. The only cure in that situation is to turn off the flash sensor on each head (or cover them up with a bit of black) and use a separate radio receiver on each head.

I've got that set as well and found it very useful.
