Yeah but Ken Rockwells a bit marmite, (love him or hate him no happy medium)
Good luck trying to sort out what's good and what's not.

obviously now this wont happen as i have revealed my plan on here :bang:
But have to say we had a play last night and was happy with results, could pick out specs of glitter on my sons craft work, orchid was amazing, but focus very sensitive,to a novice like me:nuts:,but different depth of focus in pics outstanding, slightest touch and you could center in on smallest area of interest, spots on just 1 cm of space on petal
I agree - but it's a very good spot for Nikon newbies to get a feel of where to look next................IMO....![]()
Sorry, have to disagree with YO! I would say that KR's advice is NO good for newbies - he admits that he makes a load of the stuff in there up for his own amusement and many newbies are unable to sort the good advice (I'm sure there must be at least a couple of bits there...) from all the BS. .......
Mandie, next time you're after some kit, decide what you want then have a good look around to see what it's likely to cost you new or from a reputable dealer then look at e-bay and decide how much the peace of mind of new or warranteed 2nd hand is worth over e-bay prices. Enjoy your D40 and that lens - after all, if it's worth what you paid for it to YOU, that's what really matters!
1st paragraph - and you know this - how?
agree to disagree - each to his own - I learnt a lot of technical data in his reviews so can now, hopefully, make a better choice

"I like to make things up and stretch the truth if they make an article more fun. In the case of new products, rumors and just plain silly stuff, it's all pretend. If you lack a good BS detector or sense of humor, please treat this entire site as the work of fiction."
