Martyn (Rayner) is indeed very good.

Just to offer an alternative I have just opened a Studio in Ely, Cambs. I am still in the process of building Sets, changing rooms etc but I do have 2 fully functional studios (Low and High Key) and various interchangeable sets complete with more strobes and modifiers than you will ever need!

My level of lighting expertise is by no means as good as Martyns who I believe has been working in / running studios for 12 years plus now however I do have a very good understanding of light and have already run a few Workshops / Group Shoots from my studio which have been popular and have resulted in a few people booking again for the other creative workshops I am holding there soon. Due to the fact that the studio is still an “unfinished Project” my workshops are very competitively priced but it would be wrong to go into the ins and outs here.

Please feel free to PM or call on 07886085747 if you would like to know more :)

One of the best studio lighting trainers I know is a chap called Gary Hill - his is based up in Lancaster but does regular trips south to deliver courses and 1-2-1s

Not only does he know his stuff he can actually teach it too, starting with the real basics and working up from there.

Let him know that SimonH suggested him on TP
