Studio lighting

Think this has come up a few times, Thats shockingly cheap for all that kit.
Now im all for value for money but thats taking the **** a little!

Try and up your budget (even just an exta £100) and take a look at some Lencarta stuff

Personally I think they are ok for a bit of home use and all that. Obviously you get what you pay for, and they won't compare to a £500 set. If you're thinking about shooting for money on a regular basis then you'll need more expensive ones of higher build quality.

I did use these when the studio I was going to at the last minute had hired out all of their lights (madness!). So these were back up and the following shots were using them. They lasted well through a 3/4 hour session. Recycle times were constant. I don't think they fared massively badly.

I'm sure someone who knows more about lights than me (most of the forum) could get better results out of them.

Thanks for your replies I was just going to buy them to get me started till I've got enough money to buy a decent set up and until I've made a name for myself (hopefully) :) thank you for posting some of your work you have done with that kit really helps me to see what the photos can come out like! Just wish I has abit more money behind me to get a decent set up from the start.

Thanks kaz

No problem, just bare in mind how much are you going to realistically use studio lights for home use? Although they'll have resale value, they can be a pain in the arse to sell on compared to 2nd hand lenses.

If you like shooting people have you considered a longer focal length wide aperture lens? What kind of shots are you after?

I'm looking for more professional looking photographs, something to just kick start me doing family photo shoots in my spare time in my spare room I have at home!
