An update on this, following the 3rd session yesterday...
I hope that the website will be updated during the next few days with details of the October & November sessions.
They will move from the 1st Saturday of the month to the second Sunday.
There will be a price increase (don't know how much yet) but the increased cost will be refunded to attendees who buy Lencarta within 3 months either side of the lighting workshop - in other words the increase will not apply in real terms to people who are Lencarta customers.
Meanwhile, although July & September are fully booked, there are still some places on the August date.
I don't know the mechanics yet but given that there are just 8 workshop bookings per month compared to hundreds of purchases, I think the best answer will be to do it manually, i.e. to refund back the increase to people who have bought a kit within the previous 3 months or who buy a kit within 3 months of booking on a workshop - all that will be needed is a 'note to seller' asking for the refund.increased cost will be refunded to attendees who buy Lencarta within 3 months either side of the lighting workshop
Yes, the reduction will apply in both directions.

Although the actual new workshops planned for this year will be months away, they should be on the website soon, so the booking dates will be within 3 months of your purchase.
The discounted price can only be for one place per customer though.
One of the reasons for the increase is to offer an incentive to existing/future customers, another reason is to lose less money on the lighting workshops and another is not to provide unfair competition to people who rely on providing training as part of their business.
Do you want me to answer in public and get into trouble for giving away money?OK that makes sense...

After all the questions and umming and arring I am looking to buy a Safari kit AND a small mains kit (so two kits) can I have 2 discounts and pay one full price then

Yes, just click on the link in the post above yoursI'll take this if it is still available.
Do I need to book through the website?
Andy
The final two dates for this year (October and November) are now available on the Lencarta website
All workshops before these dates are fully booked
I'm hoping that these lighting workshops will continue next year, but I don't have any info on that yet.
Garry,
Do we get a discount if we've bought a kit from Lencarta? If so how does that work with the ordering?
Darren, it's explained on the pages. Spend £300 with Lencarta within 3 months either side of the lighting workshop and get £30 back.
Lencarta is making improvements to the website which, when finished, might be able to provide this discount/refund automatically - I don't know whether that will work or not, but meanwhile it's a manual process, which means that you pay the £60 and then get £30 back if you qualify.

Yes, there are SOME ringflash heads in stock at the moBrilliant, I'm spending about £500 in next few weeks. Do you know off the top of your head if they have any ring lights actually in stock. I get paid on the 28th (wed) and wanted to place an order but would like to take the ring light to the NW meet which is on the 1st Aug (Sunday) so they would need to send it out on the 28th or 29th if it was to be on time. I just thought it would be interesting for certain shots esp in the evening.

Yes, all Lencarta products are free delivery within the UKFantastic, so it is £249.95 for the ring light with a cable attached and all the bracketry needed to connect it to the camera. That price doesn't include case or anything else but does include postage?
I was going to get it as a replacement for one of the lights in a set but I am now thinking of buying just the ring light and then buying a set of 2 lights mid August and selling off the cheap ones I have so that the colour temp etc are constant as I have already seen colour temperature problems (like you said there would be!!) on some images. Just need to decide it one of the 200w lights is enough for a hilite or whether I need to stick a more expensive Elitepro model in it.
Garry,
Will you be using Cassie as the model in November? She was lovely but it if I am going to do the day again it might be nice with a different model.
Yes, she's been booked for the series.
I did have a different model for the May one (Jade Hespin) but that was because Cassie wasn't available for that date.
It's about the lighting, not the subject anyway, although it would of course be good to have various models because different people present different problems, all of which can be overcome with the right lighting - but that wouldn't get done in one day and wouldn't be cheap.
Sounds good as long as we don't have to use a chavground![]()

Edit: Where can I find that strikethrough tool so that I can strike through chavground and substitute lovely white background?

I have now booked on the portrait day, and am looking forward to it.
Thanks, Darren, for offering your daughter as a free model, I hope you have her permission to make the offer.
Please forgive me if there are any teardrops on this post, as I haven't stopped laughing since I read Garry's post on the chavground!![]()
