What is the proper name for these?

I am trying to find some post to span floor to ceiling for permanent positioning of lights, but my searches return nothing.

Would scaffold be any good?
 
Oh, I have a couple of autopoles in the shed that haven't been used in a while. They are very nice indeed.

I should probably advertise them in the for sale section.
 
Yeah something like that. Will also need 4 arms to mount lights too.

You can fasten a super clamp with spigot onto an autopole. Rock solid. Light will go on the spigot. If that's too restrictive then you can use a magic arm. Really, I'm not making these names up....
 
Plasterboard tackers use a similar extendable pole to hold up the ceiling boards while they screw them into position, maybe a much cheaper option?
 
Yeah i just been looking into that.

I'll get into the studio tomorrow and check there is suitable structure above the false ceiling that i can wind them up to.
