Studio for hire?

I'm wanting to hire a studio locally for a few shoots I'm doing.
Other than googling and hoping, is there a better way of finding studios for hire?
(I know of a couple of places, but availability is normally an issue...)

What sort of size studio and what sort of facilities are you looking for ?.

Nothing too special - it's for a couple of family shoots, so a reasonable sized white background and lights (umbrellas or softboxes)
