I'm trying to improve my studio photography (being just an amateur), but have always been troubled by the fact that working with my Speedlights and a couple of softboxes is proving to be very frustrating for me. Problem is as most of you have already guessed, that I find it difficult to focus in such low light conditions and even if I switch on the main lights in my garage/studio, I never have a clue of what the photo will look like until I have shot it and I´m looking at the back of my Canon. So basically I'm looking for a couple of studio flashes (or one) with modeling light that are also compatible with my TT1 AC3 and TT5 remote triggering system.
I am sure there will be lights that are compatable, if so do the require extra cables etc to connect them up ..:)

Try looking at the Lencarta range of strobes. I have two EP 300's but often work with one in a beauty dish, which is fine. The cables are supplied, but your pocket wizards will work fine with that.

If you weren't so far away (Aberdeen) I could have offered to help out, but I'm sure there will be someone more local who may make the offer. Good luck

If you are talking about studio flashes that are remote controllable using your Pocketwizards rather than just compatible then Elinchrom RX are your only real choice I think. Alien Bees, a US brand, are also remote controllable but availability over here is not good as I understand it.

You will need the PowerSt4 for the Elinchrom, see here..

Most any other make that takes a standard jack will be compatible with your Pocketwizards but you will only get basic triggering functionality. See here for a list of integrated solutions from pocketwizard.

Regards...

Your tt5 has a studio light port to the left of the hotshoe, next to the green light. It will fire any studio light, the tt1 will automatically stop the pre-flash from happening.

Thanks guy's for replying ;) I will have a look at Lencarta and see what they have
