Studio Flash on location

I've been using Bowens and the Elinchrom Quadras for the last few years. I've been very happy with the Quadras but have had mixed experiences with the Bowens. I'll be replacing them at some point soon and am looking at the Lencarta stuff which are excellent units and very reasonably priced.

I'm wanting to use some Elinchrom units on location - either a D-Lite or a BXRI
I'm loathed to spend the money on an Elinchrom mains unit and wondered if anyone had any experience of using a third party product?

I've seen this on the Maplin website and wanted an opinion before giving it a shot

Couple of problems with the unit you've posted a link to - it isn't a pure sine wave inverter, so is likely to damage sensitive electronics. Also, at only 200w capacity I don't think it would be able to power a single D-lite 200/400 which is rated at 1200VA when charging although this may drop to 850VA depending on how the electronics react to the supply (being multi-voltage units). This is of course why this type of unit has been developed.

Thanks guys...i'm looking for something affordable (sub £100) but that has an internal battery that can hold a charge and can therefore be used without having to plug into the mains whilst on location...
