As someone who learns better from seeing something done rather than reading about it can anyone reccomend a dvd for learning basic lighting and portrait techniques. I also plan to take a course but the earliest available is with Calumet in March
Thanks
John.

Well, you can always buy the ones by that bloke Garry Edwards.

I'm told he's not bad:)
I'm actually +1ing this. Got a set myself and was actually watching the portrait one as I was browsing here (will rewatch it again tomorrow though as I think I am a bit tired tonight). They are rather good though Garry does have some rather cheesy music in the intros. ;-)

Thanks Gary
was hoping you might pop up with a suggestion. Didnt realise you had some of your own. Will definately check them out

Gary,
Just ordered the Portrait dvd and downloaded the pdf file which so far is brilliant and exactly what a beginner like me needed. It starts right at the beginning and explains all the terminology and equipment step by step. I haven't finished it yet but really impressed so far. Can't wait now for the dvd. Thanks for the link to your site.
