Studio Backdrop?

That background stand isn't very high or wide, but it seems fine for home use, and is probably good value for money. Be aware though that the background is a non-woven fabric and will probably drop to bits very quickly. Non-woven fabrics are very light, but hopefully the stand is strong enough to take normal cotton backdrops

Thanks Garry, would you recommend a certain type of material for a backdrop?

There are lots of choices. Cotton (muslin) is excellent for black and OK for white, paper is excellent for white and poor for black because it's shiny to some extent.

Some people don't like muslin for white because it creases, although personally I've never found it to be a real problem

not a flippent statement but I often shoot kids / babies etc with a background masking tapped to the wall and no stand. not professional looking I know but works.

You may also consider a collapsible background with train. The advantage is it can be folded up in 1/3 size and easy to carry. Usuall you don't need any background support, just put it against the wall.
