Anyone with that certain kind of Manfrotto tripod will know what I mean when I say the "little plastic doodad" was lost from one of the leg lever assembles. It acts as the locknut, so the the leg in question doesn't lock adequately and disaster looms.

I contacted Studio 1 (the UK agents for Manfrotto spares) who were knowledgable and helpful. Good service - ordered Tues pm, delivered Thu am and I'm back in business.

thanks mike,
handy one to note for me, i have twin 055 tripods and the clampy thingies are getting tired.
cheers:thumbs:

sorry, they are not thingies..doodads was the word i was looking for..

Emailed them and they got right back to me and we finished the txn by phone.
You do need to buy the whole assembly - lever, stud and brass nut - the doodad, thingummy, widget, doohickey isn't sold separately.

Less than £11 for two incl. delivery. (Part no R055.109 "Double Spiral Locking Lever") - watch out, there's an old and a new version - my guess is that Ian at Studio 1 will keep you straight on this.

Cheers,
Mike

That's really useful to know - wasn't someone looking for Manfrotto feet recently?
