Hello!

My name is Aaron, I picked up photography about three years ago after being introduced to it by a friend at University.

Now its my 5th and final year doing Automotive Engineering at Loughborough and its dissertation time! Cannot wait to get out into the real world and start my Graduate Job so I can have some disposable income to play with :)

My friend had a Nikon D70s so I got used to that and finally bought myself a D80. Been extremely happy with it, slowly adding stuff to my kitbag along the way, isn't it amazing how you can never have enough stuff!

Anyway, looking forward to exploring the forum, learning new things and improving my skills!

Please include a question for me to answer in any replies you submit.......make me feel special! :p:bonk:

Hi Aaron,

Welcome to TP. :) I'll include a couple of Q's to make you feel special lol. What is your dissertation on? Mine was on the effect of alcohol :P And what job will you be wanting when you graduate?

Morning Aaron, I work across the road from the uni in the technology centre building next to the college. We were trying to organise a local meet up but it sort of died a death for the time being. There's at least three other people on TP from the Loughborough area so you're not alone.

What's your favourite cheese?

I'm feeling pretty special right now.....

What grade did you get for the diss then? I think I did a similar project way back in first year! Passed Magnificently :D

I'm doing a parametric investigation into the Aerodynamic forces at work on a Scale model of a Saloon Car, basically seeing how different configurations of the rear section affect drag, pitch, lift etc

I was a cheddar kinda guy but my girlfriend has introduced me to baked Camembert, pretty damn good!

So how many photos of the Sockman have you taken lol!

haha I got a B for my diss - not too bad in the end :D

Have you guys tried Cathedral City....very addictive and hard to beat! lol

Good luck with the dissertation.
I'm planning my final year project at the moment for next year, quite looking forward to it now.

Cathedral city is lovely cheese, I love brie with onion chutney personally

Firstly, you shouldn't be eating French food. They don't deserve the business;)

There's a nice one in Tesco's think it's called Collier's or something, has a picture of a miner in a tin hat on the front.

Personally I'm partial to a block of Parmesan.

Cheddar - with Branston pickle - anything else is simply un-English...

Oh and welcome to the Forum...lol

Enough of the cheese lol!

Glasto - I am mostly motivated to take photos of motorsport. Managed to cover quite a range of stuff - University Karting (BUKC), Drifting (JDM Allstars), World Series by Renault, BTCC and all its entourage, Le Mans, Historic Racing. Waiting til University is over then going to crack on with trying to get the other side of the fence as i'm sick of chainlink fences! The amount of plain dangerous I have beed 'forced' to adopt to get clear photos is funny! One memory being sitting in a thorn bush to capture the Le Mans cars entering the Porsche Curves!

Other than motorsport....looking through my photo albums I guess Flora and Fauna are the next main subject!

It should really start going shooting to a self set brief, narrowing down and focusing my efforts

In due time I would also like to play with some decent Macro lenses but what i've got is good enough for now

How about you dude?

Cameras and cars?
You really have come to the right place...

Anything really, into wildlife/birds but just started to give landscape a crack.
I'm going to some music festivals this year and would love to have a go at getting some shots there, especially Glastonbury. roll on the summer........:)
