does anyone have any wise methods of freeing two stuck together filters. i accidentally screwed a p series filter holder onto the front of a UV filter and tightened it up just a little, now they are stuck fast together :nono:

any ideas!?
 
Put them in the freezer for a couple of hours, then try and unscrew it while wearing marigolds.
Place the "cold" filters down on a firm surface covered in a tea-towel and press down with the whole palm and turn rather than trying to hold both filters by the edges with both hands...
 
Screw into a lens and use rubber bands and/or rubber gloves to increase your grip.

"Filter wrenches" are also available.

I use the rubber sole of a trainer, odd as it may sound it has never let me down, it goes without saying that the sole needs to be cleaned of debris so not to damage the glass, pop a hand in the trainer and then with your free hand push and twist the filters to free them. Hope this helps :)

1hr in the freezer combined with the bottom of my rather manky well trodden pumas freed up the filter :)

I could murder a Cornetto right now as well...the vanilla-nutty ones - I hate chocolate-flavour ice-cream
 
I've just had a Magnum Gold...:love:

I keep a cable tie in my bag; Just wrap it round the filter, and tighten slightly. Gently turn, and hey presto:)

However some good alternatives on here though:thumbs:
