Hi all

Does anyone know of a flash unit? that can do a strobe effect? I would like to capture a sequence of movement in one longish exposure :) eg. makes multiple flashes over a 1 second exposure? Hope this makes sense :D

Actually the principal of strobe and flash are different . Maplins sold a good little strobe awhile ago. I played around with this. In a darkened room, camera on B then rolling a marble down a slope while the strobe is flashing. :bonk:

Metz MZ54 does it, you can change the frequency and the number of pulses. Not cheap though.

That sounds interesting - are you going to publish it?

Wow, you weren't kidding Kev, nearly £300 on a quick google  It's a cracking idea though. Why not try something like this?

I've been looking around for something to do this with for a while. I can only ever seem to find AC powered ones though. I am looking for a battery powered version if anyone knows where to get one i would appreciate the help. I have an idea for a BMX shot, but i need the Strobe to light it properly. BTW, i don't wanna have to spend a small fortune just to find it doesn't turn out like i thought, so 580's are out the window, as are Metz'

Buy a generator? lmao What about an AC one but on an inverter from your car fag lighter?

Nice idea mate, but i may have a few issues driving my car into a skate park:lol:

Here you go, take one of these

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38.l1313&_nkw=battery+booster+pack&_sacat=See-All-Categories

and hook it up to one of these

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/items/?_nkw=12v+inverter+&_sacat=0&_fromfsb=&_trksid=m270.l1313&_odkw=12v+inverter+3000w&_osacat=0

and you're sorted. I've got an inverter wired up in the car for when my youngest used to have to use a nebuliser for his asthma when we were out.
Glad to say not anymore. :)

Kev.
