Just a bit of fun this. No meeting up or anything.

The challenge is everyone has one week to take a street portrait. Starting from now. All the entries will be posted in a thread. Only one entry per person. The winner will get an A4 print of their entry paid for by me delivered to their door.

ONE RULES: 1- You can't ask someones permission

So who's up for it?
 
I'm up for it, really want to get into street.
Can't it start now? I'm of to Brum city centre in a minute lol.

Ok starts now but finishes next friday. This is Street Portrait though which is what most people class as street on here anyway but in my oppinion not technically "street" but we'll leave that for another thread :)
 
Hell, why not, I'll have a go. It will be my first real effort at "street" photography.

Friday afternoon is likely to be when I get time to have a go, I'm not promising any spectacular results though!
 
Umm, well, I'm street noob, so you want pics of people out in public yes?

dam! i just read this, but forgot to charge my battery last night, and its going to be dark soon!!!
 
I am away for a few days over this weekend, but I have a cunning plan, I may pop into the city tomorrow to try it out, it may give me some unusual candids, if I cannot get in there tomorrow I will have a go next week!

How many images are we allowed to enter?

Thats why I thought of it and only being able to enter one means it shouldn't be too hard to get one shot.

How about a maximum focal length to make it really interesting, folk don't need to be on the same street never mind ask permission @ 300mm..:)

I'm thinking of using 45mm and I wasn't planning on asking anyone. :p
 
85mm is'nt really street is it? I thought that was Phils maximum zoom for birds.

How about 50mm, much more intimate.

srsly though, we wouldn't want anybody to be uncomfortable, its meant to be fun after all, but at least they'll have to skirt the edge a little at 85. :)
I'm shooting 28.5mm.....I might not get any....:lol:

I think you'd have a point there if you were referring to street portraits.
Street as a genre is close
Street portraiture not so, or at least close isn't a qualification, its just tougher.
