Just in time!

I wasn't sure if I was gonna manage this one. I managed to get out and shoot for a couple of hours yesterday with my new 70-200 IS 2.8L .. I've never shot any street before so be kind!

Just a few  .. I'd just like to thank Gary for the idea, it gave me a push to try something different which turned out to be pretty enjoyable. I definitely noticed myself becoming more confident over the time I was out shooting. By the end I had no problem being really close to people.

#4 Is that someone from TP shooting for this challenge? What a coincidence if he is.

I really like your first one purpleclouds.

Cheers

I'd had an idea to go and find a Coronation Street (apt, with me living in Manchester) but I set off this morning without having checked maps :(

I guess we will find out...won't be the first time I've accidentally snapped someone from here! :) I numbered 2 photos as 4), so it is now correctly, number 5)! :)

Its not a great composition, the back ground does distract, but for me its one of the 'true' street shots in this thread. It’s got loads of story, what the heck is he doing!!

I like Rockshifters 'One I cooked earlier' as well ...okay that lens effect makes it pop, but its right interesting overall. I like Purpleclouds first one as well.

Great efforts everyone ... kinda gutted now that I didn't take a day off this week. :bang:

So whos judging all these shots then..?? :naughty: Out of interest like. ;)

I managed to get some street photos of the people in and around Nottingham today. The 50 mm 1.8 is still good but i think when on the 5D body i would be better investing in the 50 mm 1.4. I have done some street photos before and today i felt a little intimidated but the more i shot the more confident i got. I kept remembering the youtube vids pete put on and realised that people really don't mind that much if a camera is in front of them.

Yea I don't think people do mind! I was at the Christmas Markets today in Manchester (again), walking round with my 1D and 24-70 2.8....a Chinese man stopped me and asked if I'd take a photo of him and his little girl in front of the giant Santa with his camera phone. I said yes, then he proceeded to give me a run down how it works!

Isn't it obvious? Someone threw his frisbee out the window and he went after it. ;)

I think we have some guest judges lined up.

Guys, as a result if various pm's pleading for mercy, 24 hour extension for entries!!! Now hurry up :D

Aha a chance... been away at a wedding for a couple of days and thought I wouldnt get chance to have a go.

There are some fantastic images here from the unlikeliest of sources

Michael

Taken just before I was whacked with the stick ... no only kidding.
The guy behind was telling the guy with the stick to go in the opposite direction, but yes it does have an aggressive look to it.

Oh Gary, this shouldn't be in as it was taken a couple of months ago - I shall go and stand in the corner for the rest of the night.

To be fair the last post in there the guy said he saw someone togging the old guy in rags, couple of weeks or so ago,and wondered if it was Gary, and he just wanted to share his experience

Hey TP, first post!

I got a generic viewfinder for my LX3 a while ago and thought I'd try it out doing this challenge, see how well it worked. Not too well as it turns out, it's pretty much useless for framing:(

Here's a few of the shots anyway. I'm definietly going to do this again :)

Welcome to TP, I would resize your images to conform to the rules otherwise the pixel police will be along.

800x800 is the rule.

Hullo there and welcome to TP. Best read through the rules as your photos are over the forum size limit of 800px on the widest edge.
