Street Challenge: Finished. 340+ Images :)

OK heres my lot from yesterday with Duncan. It was a really interesting day and also my first go at street photography. I enjoyed not looking through the viewfinder and just snapping shots when I was close to people. I should have done that with the shoe shiners then I wound't have been shouted at. The thing I enjoyed was the fact that you never know what your going to see. That brothers shot he saw is pure genious.

Bed and toilet ! LOL

You don't need any more! As always, your pics are outstanding.

Git.

Actually I lied, I have some 5D street video ...

Luke and I stumbled across Keane's singer busking in Covent Garden for charity. Youtube seems to have crappified the quality of this video. Not all the song cos my arms got tired holding the camera over the crowd.

Something not right with this for me. The two men look very small in the frame compared to their surroundings

Sorry mate, can't agree with you. I think this is nearly perfect. The 2 of them having a fag and the Balls Brothers sign is perfect juxtaposition. Wonderful.

Andy

Mind you having looked again they do look a little out of proportion with the doors. Maybe just big doors?

I guess they were small men ?

Now you've mentioned it they look ridiculous, how strange. But it's how it was.

They do look small. Maybe they're hobbits or something.

Sorry WH, wasn't suggesting it wasn't, they just look odd! :D

No worries, maybe that's what drew my eye to them in the first place - I remember seeing them before I saw the sign.

Edit : I went back to the RAW file, which means you can see I cloned out the sign next to the door, damn. Is that allowed in street ?

But you can see they are not much taller than that sign ...

I never liked the street anyway, I'm going back to weddings. <sulk>

Have you checked out the pixel details around the two gents and the roller shutter door.

It has to be taken no earlier than 2 days ago and before this Sunday I think :D

challange accepted...... I'm in, well out on the street.
Michael.

I think I have spotted what is strange about this Photo  :D

Could be worse...he could have changed the the second R in brothers to an L........:naughty:

Planning to go out tomorrow if I can with my son for support. Feeling very nervous about actually doing the street togging and from looking at the high standard of some of the work already done

Cookin 'ell. Some excellent shots already from all!

Weddinghack, is there any area of photography you are crap at? All of those are brilliant! I love the one of the two in the train taking your shot :D Very inspirational stuff

I agree, Duncan you rapidly becoming my favourite photographer...... don't worry I'm not a stalker;)

ME!!! I can't get out, this is driving me nuts, might have to go and do a later night foray in the west end tonight as I head north tomorrow.

I should have rephrased!!!

Anyone GETTING OUT and struggling? :D

I think I have spent so far, about 10 hours on the street. Started a flickr group:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/edinburghstreet/

To share my efforts, and hopefully get some of my Edinburgh contacts in on the ation too.

I have cracked the confidence thing. It would appear, I have a LOT to learn in terms of spotting a good shot though. And then once I spot it, making sure I take it correctly.

Anyway, check out the group if you can be arsed. 99% of the images are mine (so far), and 99% of them are "pure pish" as my neighbours from Glasgow would say :D. Gonna be fun cracking this, hardest type of photography to date!

Gary.

Cheers Mark. I'm only, err, slightly concerned that you are in Norfolk as well ... ;)

I spent 3 hours out in Liverpool last night. I was sitting in my car after a shoot, soaking because I didn't take a coat and I thought "Its the last Xmas Thursday. I should go, but I'm cold and tired and damp." I pulled myself together, got a fresh top out the boot and warmed up a bit. I went to town on town.

I like those two because of the shop signs. #16 could be Jesus Resurrected, and #17 well ...

The rest are great too! I think my favs are the ones with the street performers :D Wish we had cool stuff round here like that.

I didn't spot the Westworld sign until today. Thought that was pretty clever of me ;)

I didn't think there was anything that would get me into Birmingham on the last Saturday before Christmas, but I think this thread might have managed it.

Just got to pluck up the courage for close quarters battle with the last minute shoppers.
