Straying off topic, thread evolver

One of the doctors that takes my blood pressure, does tend to show off a cleavage
As has been said, I would take the pressure at home then, when you arrive, give it to her. Then, if she's not out of breath, let her know the blood pressure reading you took as well.

:p:D:sneaky: :naughty: lol

I do have my own blood pressure machine but it's more fun getting it done professionally, even though the reading is wrong

The reason I went to the doctors, was because I was getting dizzy spells. The doctor took my blood pressure, and did various other checks. She found nothing other than a raised blood pressure reading, normal for me. So she sent me to get my bloods done. Thinking of the mornings events, I did not even notice the needle going in :)

Cool, sounds like they used new needles on you :)

I hope so  I even said to her, did you really take me blood. Yes she said, shoving a sample in my face..She did wipe my arm with something first, maybe it was anaesthetic based as well as a cleanser

She's good, better check your back for scars as well :p

Nope, not had that. Although I have had conjunctivitis the other week, woke up one morning and could not see anything. I thought I had gone blind, not surprising what I was doing the day before

That sounds hideous.
I'll see it though, and equal it perhaps with repeated lumbar punctures :-)

Don't mention punctures, my missus got a puncture in one of her tyres on her wheel chair. I now have a sore back, I am thinking of borrowing her wheel chair :)

Whilst part of me feels sorry for you...that part is not the lumbar region of my spine

years of pushing and lifting my missus, has left me with a bit of an arched back and a funny walking gait. Although in fairness, I suppose a DSLR and heavy lens, combined with tight jeans have also taken it's toll ;)

you do realise that inflatable Ingrid your plastic pal isn't really your missus don't you ;)
But she is so uncannily real, the latest silicone is incredibly life like. Someone once said, its better than the real thing :naughty:

the latest silicone
Getting the right mix is the real problem, plus you have to put it in a vacuum. Got to get all the air bubbles out apparently. Still working on the mix :)

Got to go to bed now with this picture of Quasimodo shagging Lilo lil in my brain ,with a Hoover stuffed up her jacksey to get rid of the bubbles :whistle:

It's the hot weather Keith ,don't leave the window open with the light on ,perhaps a egg box would help :agree:

No such luck, she stood on a nail so she has been let down. Not allowed to use the vacuum after ten, so it's a mug of cocoa and a nice adventure story.

Because it wasn't far superior and died a death

Betamax was technically superior for quality of recording (but would you notice that on SD TV after the taps was used a few times?), but practically was inferior. Sony made a huge mistake in making small, neat, technically superior tapes and machines, but the tapes were an hour long, whilst VHS were two hours, which meant you could record a movie without resorting to the 3 tape stacker mechanism as a bolt on accessory to the betamax player. Being Sony the players were a lot more than VHS players (and proprietory to Sony), so VHS players were available from a number of manufacturers and a lot cheaper. The final killer was at the time, video rental was huge, and most shops had huge stocks of VHS tapes.

Video 2000 was even better :p

We had Laserdisks for a while at my last company (broadcast equipment) running to provide a quality feed for test video.

Reading over shoulder hmm. I am now going to get out more and take some photos.....!!

I stand to be corrected but I thought the rental shops sprung up a good long time after VHS had won the battle! (we watched VHS video at technical college in the early 70's but video rental did not get popular until the 80's
and all the history I have seen shows that the best format (VHS) won the battle.

I used to work part time in a repair shop during the video wars. My other job was working shift so we rented a lot of films in the night shift. Me and my colleague had Sony Betamax machines...

I remember buying a brand new VHS video recorder, must be the back end of the 80s maybe early 90s can't really recall. I remember the salesperson telling me, it had five heads, or was it four  . But anyway, I said if the heads go wont it be expensive fixing all those heads. The salesperson said he will give me a free five year guarantee, I thought wow great, and I bought it. A few months later, the company went bust closed down, or whatever you call it. I think it was a company called Colour Vision, or something like that. Does anybody remember Rumbelows ? I bought a washing machine from them, with an extended guarantee. They too went out of business soon after..

Out of curiosity....does anyone know if BENNETS is still around, on Irongate in Derby?

remember them well ,our local rumbelows became a sunbed centre, then beauty salon, then a gym then a beauty salon again its now a polski slep ,along with most shops in that parade ,all sandwiched between a tesco mini and a aldi ,the video shop opposite is now a charity shop ,how things change

Yes! Rumbelows...and Radio Rentals
Back in the day, we used to drive to london to bulk buy Rumbelows TV's that were returned rentals. Out of 40 you'd get 30 working plus a few spares, usually end up with 35 working if you picked the good ones.
Then rented them out locally at half the price of Rumbelows, only issue was once a week going around the estates collecting coinage.

Didn't they get bought or merged with Radio Rentals?

Ah so it was your fault then :p

We had a huge Rumbelows years ago, when that closed I remember a Radio rentals opening up.
No idea if it was a merger though.
