Last time I owned a shoulder strap I had Manfrotto 200PL plates which had the metal D-ring on the underside of the bolt which I used to clip my old strap to.

I'd like to get another shoulder strap and keep the camera round above my bum (if that makes sense) but the plates I now have (410PL) dont have that ring.

Not sure how much sense that makes but I just wondered how people attach the strap if they're not using the normal shoulder rings.

....I take it that would screw into the plate ?

I goes with an R strap...

Do the screws show come out of the plates ? if so, yes, but then I would assume you would need to switch them back as I doubt you could mount it on the tripod with the r2

The screws shown are what hold these 2 Manfrotto plates to the camera and the lens foot. Removing the rubber bungs allows the screws to be slid out and removed so i suspect i could replace those screws with the R strap one providing the bed is deep enough to still mount to the tripod head.

Hi Terran,

I made this out of a standard Nikon strap and a chunky key ring loop bought from a local key cutting shop; works great with the Black Rapid RS4.
