Do you have a strange, or at least out of the norm, habit? I've asked myself this many times, I don't personally think I do, but others looking on might think I'm odd at times :cautious: One I can think of is that I insist on wetting my hair every time I get up or leave the house or ... well, go anywhere. Even after a full on shower, after drying down, I'll step to the sink, run the tap [usually cold or luke warm] wet my fingers and run them through my hair. There's something to it maybe - I'm 42 and not a grey hair on my head, no sign of anything close to balding either. I also have a weird habit of holding my breath for extended periods. I'll be sat there, not breathing, then let out a sigh ... my partner tells me off about this one constantly

I ask though mainly because I just recently recalled some of the people I used to know way back. One guy I was good pals with for a long time had the habit of never, and I mean never! wearing socks more than once. That's right, he binned them end of the day, there wasn't a hope in hell he would wash and re-wear them. He just chucked them like they were tissue paper filled with snot :D And he only ever wore white socks too. He needed them to be pristine white, daily, no matter what else he was wearing. Funniest part was, he was a messy F'er besides :D His room would be a state, but there'd always be that drawer or shelf that would hold a tonne of brand new white socks!

A girl I dated for a bit had a large collection of handbags, really expensive ones like Gucci, Calvin Klein, Emporio Armani etc ... and the laughable thing, which became a snarky remark I'd put to her every time I called for her, was that she NEVER brought any of these handbags out with her. Nope, they gathered dust in her room, never to be actually used.

What odd habits do you have or do you know someone with a strange one that either irks or amuses you?

For me its nakedness, i would happilly live my life naked, our house is setup with carefull blinds and no uncovered windows within open view so i can merrilly wander round most of the time especially in summer in the buff.
When i am over in our greece house in crete i can be pretty much naked for days as the house is semi rural and not overlooked at all.

I take it you have no kids then? If I did that here our girls would scream the place down :D

The handbags thing will probably reward your ex girlfriend well as designer handbags are a good investment, going for silly money "used", if in excellent condition complete with papers and dust bags. :-)

You're giving her way too much credit :D

Now I don't mind paying up when I go out with a girl, but she would spend an hour talking about this latest one she'd bought and I'd call her out "That's great, another new handbag? Pity you wouldn't make use of it and buy us a drink" :D

haha yeah, no kids, a few years ago over in gran canaria there is a nudist beach and we went for a walk along it, i loved it over a mile of just wandering along in the buff, wife is also very happy with my nudity

We were in Spain a few years back, and wanted to bring the kids to the beach, but the local main beach was stupidly over crowded. So we ordered a taxi and asked the guy to bring us to a cove we had looked up. I was in the water with my daughter falling over waves before I noticed a number of people there were in the nip! And it wasn't beautiful models, more grannies and granddads letting it all hang :D Didn't bother us, we just found it amusing, our innocence ... and my skim reading. If anything it made the day much more relaxing, nobody gave a hoot what you were wearing, how you looked etc ... which our daughter really loved as she has to use crutches to get to the water. She normally gets all kinds of pitiful looks, but here nobody batted an eye, very refreshing

Get down to Sougia next time you're in Crete. Locals call it the bay of pigs ! In Chora Sphakion the local kids chuck stones at topless women .

No me, but I watched a guy in a van, half back out of a car park space semi blocking the access routes, stopped,
and went on a nose mining trip, he seemed to be enjoying it ... I wonder if he does indeed make a habit of this?

Maybe he was looking for his brain ....

That is a serious perversion. Hannibal Lecter would have been proud of them.

Bad driving is definitely a popular habit around here!

I think people are holding back on this one, don't want to let out their dirty little secrets :D

Nose mining is the best! Very satisfying when sat in traffic on the M1 on Friday pm

I forgot a completely obvious one of mine! So obvious I don't even think it's a habit, but everyone else tells me off about it! I crack my knuckles :D soooo satisfying ... especially when it annoys others

My son cracks his neck!
Me? everything cracks, I only have to stand up :D

I do that too! See, I didn't even think of that one as a habit, also very satisfying. I creak like a haunted mansion when I arise too :D

I crack my forehead sometimes. I think there's sometimes a bit of scar tissue that pings over a screwhead - creeps Mrs Nod out!!!
