Has anyone ever had any strange stats for any of their photos on flickr? This photo has went from having about 16 views today to having 1,623 views in the space of about an hour (since I last went on my stats page). It says that all of the view have came directly from flickr, but there is no sign of it in explore (and Flickr scout says I have had no photos explored). Seems very strange... Especially considering all of my photos combined had only received just over 2000 views since I opened the account!

Admittedly I have posted it on here and another forum, but I have done that with many of my photos in the past, and never seen stats like this...

Hmm, it seems to be getting worse/better depending on how you look at it lol.

Uploaded this photo at 7pm today, and it has already had 3,584 views, and a handful of comments/favs!!

A reverse image seach in Google revealed nothing out of the ordinary either.

It seems strange that the similar third pic only has 16 views.
 
It seems odd but from personal experience not uncommon.
 
Yeah, it is very odd. I could understand an increase by a few hundred maybe, but to go from about an average of between 50-100 views a day in total, to having 2 photos with 5,000 views between them seemed a little too odd. Anyway, it doesnt really matter, was just curious if anyone had seen similar things going on. Will keep an eye on it.
 
It hasn't been explored, so the only reason is... that for some reason.. it's gone viral. You have flickr pro? If so, look in your stats... see where it's being linked to.

This is probably a stupid question, but I'm a Flickr noob, but when you embed a picture here or on another forum for instance, does the number of people viewing the pic in the thread increase the views or does the viewer have to view it exclusively in Flickr?
